August is coming to an end. I can hardly believe it. I swear it was June like two seconds ago. Can we all collectively agree to make June, July, and August the only months we have where all of us are on summer vacation? Yah, I’d really like that.

Since August is coming to an end, I have another Month Update article for you. Honestly, August has been an absolute blur. I did this whole getting married thing, we started testing for DiveThru, and I turned a year older. All of the things happened this month. All of the things.

Let’s dive right into them…

DiveThru

First and foremost, let’s talk about DiveThru. Why? Well because it’s been the baby I have been developing for the last 9 months (many months before that were put into the idea creation), and we’re getting ready to bring it into the world.

We have a firm launch date. I can hardly believe it. While I’m not ready to share it with the world, you may or may not be able to download it by the time the September update article comes out.

Brace yourself, friends!

We are deeeeeep in beta testing right now. We have two types of testers. We have our Brand Ambassadors and professional testers. The Brand Ambassadors are going through the app as genuine users. They’re sharing their feedback on the Dives and everything about it. The professional testers are going deeeeeeep and uncovering every little error.

A couple weeks back in my #sophiethinksthoughts email (which you can sign up for here) I talked about the fear I have surfacing around DiveThru. I am so excited to bring it out into the world, but I’m also nervous as well.

Hey, want to be the first to know alllll of the things about DiveThru and my life? Join my #sophiethinksthought weekly email blast here.

I discovered that when I was sharing my workouts, it was easier to hide behind them. DiveThru is a much more vulnerable thing for me as it’s based on the very thing that saved my life.

All of the emotions are surfacing around it.

Regardless, I’m not letting them slow me down. I cannot wait to bring it into the world.

The Sophie Gray Brand

I have something I reaaaallly really want to share with you. But, the time isn’t right just yet. Regardless, this month I signed something that has been the highlight of my career. It’s something I have wanted more than anything, and I can hardly believe it’s real.

While I can’t share more than that, I can leave you with this… You deserve to have your dreams come true. Whatever fears you have, work through them. This life is YOURS!

Other than that super exciting thing being signed and finalized, there hasn’t been a lot going on with my personal channels. With the wedding, I took some time to enjoy every moment of it and am just really getting back into the swing of things now.

Okay, it’s time to get personal….

My Relationship

Well, friend… I got married on August 9th and celebrated our marriage on August 11th. It was 11 months in the making, and we had the absolute best time.

I have so much I want to say about the wedding. SO much. It was not perfect. Not everything went according to plan, but I wouldn’t change a single thing.

I’m giving myself the space to soak up the real-life moments of the wedding and the memories that come along with it. You can expect to see blogs about it at some point, but that point isn’t now.

In the meantime, here are some super awesome wedding photos:

I’m married af, and I couldn’t be happier about it. (For those asking for allll of the wedding details. I’ll be doing a recap blog post soon!)

What I’m Into

I never ever ever read fiction… Until this month. Now? Well, I became absolutely obsessed with To The Boys I’ve Loved Before… like pretty much everyone else in the world. I. Love. It. So. Much. I binged read the entire series in a week and have watched the movie three times. I feel like a 14 year old girl again, and I kind of like it.

I also wore my housecoat and wrapped it around Rio so it looks like Rio is wearing a housecoat. WE DON’T DESERVE DOGS.

My Wellness Routine

Being completely transparent, I have been struggling with my workouts and eating well. As we discussed, August was busy. I feel like it took us days to recover from the wedding. For that reason, I haven’t been the strictest when it comes to my workouts. But, I am totally okay with that. It’s important to give your body breaks, and I wasn’t put on this earth strictly to workout. You weren’t either.

That being said, I have been obsessing over my cacao milkshake I have been making when I get a workout in. It’s been my absolute go to after a workout and before recording. It cools me down and then gives me a bit of an energy hit in the morning.

If you know anything about me, you’ll know I am obsessed with chocolate. Riley thinks I go over the top, but whatevvaaaaaa. I just love it so much. Chocolate chip cookie, chocolate bars, hot chocolate, chocolate flavored ice cream… I love it all. And guess what? Chocolate, when eaten in its raw, unheated state, has incredible health benefits so I’m doing good for my body. But, let’s be honest, I’d eat it regardless.

My Cacao Milk Free Milkshake

  • 4 Frozen Bananas
  • 2 Tablespoons Of Cacao Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Of Maple Syrup
  • Almond Milk (adjust the amount depending on the consistency you want)

One thing I want to say about cacao is that it is different from cocoa. Cocoa is the refined version of cacao, and the refining process strips away the health benefits.

Cacao is loaded with tons of minerals like magnesium and calcium to help keep your bones strong and potassium to maintain a healthy blood pressure! Also, fun fact I recently learned – cacao has FIVE TIMES more antioxidants than Acai and is one of the world’s most potent antioxidant sources! My mind was blown when I found this out and I already loved chocolate, but now love it even more!

I recommend getting the raw organic cacao powder from Sunfood because it’s the BEST! They only use the finest variety of organic cacao beans that are non-GMO, vegan and gluten free. Another cool thing about their cacao is that it goes through a cold-pressing process, which reduces fat content of the cacao, allowing for them to create the finest, rich and easy-to-use powder out there!

And because I love you guys you can get 20% off your Sunfood order with the code SOPHIEGRAY. YESSSSS!

Reflections

It’s time for my favorite part of this email… The reflections.

In case you didn’t notice, I’m allll about introspection. It’s literally what DiveThru is all about.

That being said, there was a reason DiveThru and my love for reflection came about. It’s because I’m really excellent at ignoring myself.

Andddd, this month I had some things come to the surface that I had been ignoring.

After the wedding, I noticed my motivation around work wavering. I wasn’t feeling as accomplished as I’d like. I found myself wanting to work on the couch with the TV on.  Which is fine, but I’d end up watching the TV and not working.

I felt super lazy.

I then caught myself in a cycle of looking at people in a similar space professional as me, and I’d feel like shit.

I kept just trying to power through and force myself into creative and productive moods. And while I believe sometimes we need to be strict with ourselves, I was utterly ignoring why I was feeling unproductive in the first place.

I decided to turn to my journal, and I discovered that I just really need a break. DiveThru is launching so soon, the wedding just happened, my birthday, my mum’s birthday, my niece’s birthday, this dinner here, and this dinner there… All of the things.

It’s funny that DiveThru is going into the launch phase and I was stepping back into the habits that caused me to create it in the first place.

Through my journaling, I made a plan and scheduled in some breaks. It really was as simple as me taking 10 minutes to connect.

I just love journaling so much.

Your Takeaway

So, I want you to reflect this coming month. I want you to DiveThru (with or without the app) and face what you have been ignoring. If something internally is asking for your attention, turn to it and DiveThru it.

I want you to take the time to connect with yourself and notice the way your mind/body/emotions are trying to communicate with you.

It’s fascinating what you can discover.
